A sheet of stratus cloud had obscured the sun all day and unusual weather conditions allowed mist to linger long into the afternoon. Just before dusk, soft grey light suddenly gave way to intense golden sunshine, which poured across the Longshaw Estate's wooded moorland landscape. Hovering mist separates the woods from high Eyam Moor beyond.
