Kidney vetch, Carnewas, May 2009
The clifftops around Carnewas are home to the yellow-flowered Kidney Vetch (Anthyllis vulneraria), which thrives in the dry slatey soil. A variable plant ranging in height and growing habit, it is notable for its soft- textured flowers that are like flame-coloured pom-poms.
