Ancient walls, Carl Wark, August 2009
Carl Wark is a hill fort on Hathersage Moor, near the Derbyshire / South Yorkshire border. It is thought to originally date from the Iron Age. Stone walls made from large boulders are all that can now be seen of what would have been an impressive fortification. The remaining features at the site are presumed to be Romano British.
